Who you’ll be working with

Jonathan Schurman is the sole proprietor of Stoic Land Use. Jon is a forest scientist with over 15 years of experience in forestry, soil science, and sustainable resource management. Originally from Prince Edward Island, Canada, Jon completed a Ph. D. in forestry at the University of Toronto. He spent 5 years overseas studying climate change effects on wood production and forest disturbances. Since returning to Atlantic Canada in 2021, Jon has been working closely with landowners and natural resource industry groups, developing plans to improve the economic performance of forests and farms, without compromising ecological integrity.
